Basketball has shaped my entire life. I grew up on cracked blacktops, driveways, and neighborhood parks — long before I ever stepped into a real gym. We didn't always have enough players for 5-on-5, so we played the way kids naturally learn the game:
It was simple. It was pure. No plays. No egos. Just spacing, movement, decision-making, and fun.
Those games sharpened my instincts, strengthened my toughness, and taught me how to truly play basketball — not just run plays. Those lessons carried me all the way through a successful college career, where I earned All-American honors and eventually transitioned into coaching.
